CIPD Student Stories: Daisy Goodwin Level 5 Review

Daisy speaks about how working towards her CIPD Level 5 in HR made her dream job possible.

I am currently working as a Co-Ordinator for Kitchen manufacturing company, but in April I decided to take on the challenge of completing my Level 5 Diploma in People Management with ICS Learn.

Lockdown gave me the opportunity to really focus on defining my future goals and making a plan on how I was going to reach them. I’ve always been interested in Human resources, but until this point, I lacked the courage that I needed to pursue further learning.

Having achieved a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, I was able to proceed with an associate level course in People Management. This gave me the confidence to start applying for jobs in my chosen career, which has successfully landed me a new job with a Talent Resource Company that focuses on Talent Management.

Having a full-time job and other life commitments, I was hesitant at first at taking up a course that would require such commitment.

However, ICS Learn are fantastic as it allows you to work at your own pace.

I’m aiming to complete my course within 18 months but know that ICS are there throughout to help and support me with a mix of online learning, community boards and personal tutors to connect with if I ever get stuck.

When researching for a study provider, ICS Learn was regularly coming to my attention due to the positive online reviews and long-standing track record.

The real stories were specifically interesting as they were based on people sharing their personal journeys into HRM, which particularly interests me.
