Learning & Development
14 June 2022 - 2 min read
My name is Kirsty and I work as an Operational Learning and Development Advisor at StepChange Debt Charity.
In my role, we do a lot of travelling so it is almost impossible to get us all in the same place at the same time!
At the moment, I am in the process of completing my first assignment which has been more challenging than I expected!
The ICS Learn module has introductory material which can be accessed by logging on, but what is even better is that at the end of the module there are weblinks which take you to further reading and resources.
This has made researching my assignment topic so much easier and enjoyable as it has kept it focused and effective! Knowing that my tutor is there to support me is reassuring as I can just drop them an email when I need to.
With just my first assignment underway, I am already thinking about the learning cycle and how this applies to my role.
I am constantly thinking about how I can adapt the training materials that we have to ensure they are suitable for all learners whilst also meeting the objectives of the charity.
I am already looking forward to getting started on some of the other assignments and reflecting on my practice more so that I can improve learning and support development for those within my charity and myself.
I would recommend ICS Learn to those who want to work at their own pace whilst also having all the support of a face-to-face provider!
